MUSIC

Tonight
Martial Arts vs Rock Bands

The event, combining music and martial arts, will be held at the Valletta Waterfront's Magazino and The Power House between 11:00 and 23:00. During the marathon, martial artists and rock bands will vie for the public's attention to outdo each other according to the funds they collect for their performance. Donations paid by the visiting public at the entrance will go to the Puttinu Cares Foundation at the end of the event.

January 30
Areola Treat

The band will be playing at Play Rock, Paceville from 22:00. Zickler will be the in-house DJ for the night. Free entrance.
January 31
No Snow No Alps/Cable 35/The Imagery
The rock bands will be playing at Liquid! Club, San Gwann. Doors open at 22:00. Entrance is at €8.50. Free No Snow No Alps EP ‘Just Rock’ will be distributed until stocks last.

February 6
ClubMurder + Item

The metal bands will be performing at Liquid Club, San Gwann from 21:00. ClubMurder will also be launching their full-length debut on the night. Entrance is at €7. Free transport to Paceville will be provided after the gig.

Norm Rejection and 26 Other Worlds

The metal bands will be performing at Remedy Rock Bar, Paceville. Entrance is at €5 and doors open at 22:00.

Pre-Valentine Massacre V

Metal acts Loathe, Knockturn Alley and Cypher will be performing at Remedy Rock Bar, Paceville from 21:00. Entrance is at €7.

The Story of Babar the Elephant

Children's musical at the St James Cavalier Music Room starting from 16:00. Directed by Sarah Spiteri (The Magic Flute, Peter and the Wolf, Teddy Bear Concert series). Including music from pianist Alex Vella Gregory, clarinettist Godfrey Mifsud and Renzo Spiteri on percussion. Tickets are at €7 for adults and €5 for children. A family ticket (two adults and two children) is at €20.

Unifaun Theatre presents Ben Jonson's classic comedy, directed by Polly March (Royal Shakespeare Company) at the Manoel Theater. LITERATURE

Tomorrow
New work by Trevor Zahra

The celebrated author will present a number of new literary works as part of year’s first edition of Poeżijaplus at the Manoel Theatre Courtyard from 19:30. Nafra will also present a selection of Ruben Zahra’s music; while Vince Fabri will entertain with samples from his repertoire. Entrance is free.

Qed Nistenniek Niezla max-Xita

Pierre J. Mejlak’s latest short story collection will be launched at the Chiaroscuro Cellars, Strait Street, Valletta from 19:30.
