Joe Portelli’s epistle

Kindly refer to the letter by Joe Portelli (MaltaToday 11 January), entitled ‘Violence of the Church on the Environment’. Mr Portelli states in his opening paragraph that he sent his letter to IL-GENSillum twice, but “they have not published it, so I wish to reply to the interview here”.
Mr Portelli is not correct. The said letter was published in IL-GENSillum on January 3 2009, on page 9, next to the Editorial, accompanied by the same photograph which appeared in MaltaToday.
