Clean toilets at police station

Reference is being made to a letter by Mr Jo Said regarding Paceville and also regarding the toilet and cell at St Julians Police Station.
With reference to Paceville, the writer could not be more mistaken and out of tune with the changes which the Police Force implemented in this past year in Paceville. In fact police presence has increased and police officers are now strategically dispersed in Paceville, covering both the entertainment area and parts of the residential areas, particularly those adjacent to streets where youths loiter.
Regarding the two pictures printed with the letter showing the cell and toilet at St Julians Police Station, it is to be pointed out that the picture does not show the toilet as it is today. In fact the toilet bowl was replaced some time ago and same is cleaned every shift, whenever the work load permits. One must also state that the toilet is used by police officers, detainees and also employers and customers of the health offices situated at the mentioned Police Station.
Allegations made regarding the cell are also unfounded. The cell is regularly cleaned by Police officers and the mattresses are changed from time to time when it becomes soiled or rendered unhygienic by detainees.
It is clear that the unfair comments by Mr Jo Said were intended only to damage the reputation of the Police Force.
