Eviction orders for Dwejra squatters

Yet more enforcement action against squatters took place yesterday, when officials from the Government Property Division (GPD) affixed letters of notification to buildings which were being used illegally by squatters.
The notification letters were handed to squatters in public properties at Dwejra, in the limits of Mgarr, and over the Victoria Lines. They were given one week’s notice to evict the property.
Similar eviction orders were handed to squatters in Bahar ic-Caghaq, the Ghajn Tuffieha barracks, Marfa, and at the Camerata quarters in Valletta.
Last week the GPD continued with its enforcement exercise against illegal street furniture and other items sprawling onto public land by commercial establishments at the Valletta terminus.
Accompanied by the Police and workers from the Public Works Department, the GPD last week removed furniture from outside six establishments found to have broken the law, with 29 tables, 86 chairs, 10 umbrellas, and other benches, shelving, freezers, fridges, and flower pots removed from the place.
Actions against street furniture have already taken place in Sliema and in Valletta by the GPD, accompanied by police officers.

Mintoffianism rules, OK
