The Day of the Zulu Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna (FWA), the Malta Heritage Trust, will be organising a public lecture entitled ‘The Day of the Zulu’ at the Saluting Battery in Valletta (entrance via Upper Barracca Gardens), delivered by Neil Aspinshaw at 18:15. Aspinshaw will be giving a graphic account of the events that happened in South Africa on 22nd January 1879. At 18:00 the FWA will re-enact the ceremony of firing the sunset gun, which recalls the old tradition of firing a gun at sunrise, noon and sunset.
