Bugibba’s smelly sights

Just a few metres away from the well kept man-made sandy beach at Bugibba, one comes across an awful smelly sight: the bring-in site and the two skips close to the bumping cars. They are always full, never cleaned and one can smell them from a mile away, never mind from the sandy beach. Not forgetting that they also serve as a magnet for thousands of mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches and a few rats.
Typical of us Maltese, to go through such a big effort and expense to create a lovely sandy beach and then go and park such monstrosities right next door to it. Can’t these awful things be moved further away from the beach and wherever they are put, be cleaned regularly?
I read with interest the article “Odd maintenance jobs to be done in new drive to spruce up country” – may I suggest this should be one of them because it is a big shame to see both locals and tourists having to cover their noses when walking past this bring in sight.
