Media bias against hunters

I write to express my grave concerns regarding, what is in my opinion, media bias in Malta and what appears to be a political agenda being waged against the Maltese hunting community.
I am a British field sports enthusiast and became aware of this situation whilst on holiday in Malta recently.
I am of the opinion that the media, especially newspapers published in the English language in particular, show a bias in favour of anti-hunting organisations.
It would appear that such publications will seize upon every opportunity to incite an anti-hunting feeling amongst the general populace, by what appears to be wild exaggeration of any instances of illegalities. Furthermore they fail to remain impartial by failing to publicise the sterling work carried out by the Federation for Hunting and Conservation Malta in enhancing the environment, such as the maintenance and improvements carried out at the Mizieb and Mellieha hunting reserves, besides similar voluntary work that is carried out by the rest of the hunting community all over the islands. This work benefits not only quarry species but all wildlife and biodiversity.
Illegal hunting occurs in all countries and is rightly condemned by all parties. The exaggeration and sensationalising of such occurrences in Malta not only tarnishes the image of law abiding hunters, whom constitute the overwhelming majority of hunters in Malta, but that of your country also.
Such one sided reporting is not only an attack upon Maltese hunters but also an attack on the socio-cultural traditions and history of your country.
I myself and the vast majority of the field sports community in Great Britain whole heartedly support the Maltese hunters and applaud their excellent environmental work.
