NEWS | Sunday, 09 July 2008 Earth tremor recorded in Gozo An earthquake of magnitude 3.4 occurred yesterday morning, west of Gozo at 8:13am, according to the Seismic Monitoring and Research Unit at the University of Malta.
Another earthquake, of magnitude around 1.8, occurred three days ago about 20km off the south-east coast of Malta. The tremor is the second seismic activity to be recorded in the space of a few days. In the past weeks, five tremors were recorded in the past weeks in Maltese waters, although in the majority of the cases the epicentre was located further away from land.
