Blu, Ericailcane & Lorenzo Fonda

Kinemastik has invited Blu, Ericailcane and Lorenzo Fonda, three young Italian artists to hold a workshop in mural painting at St. James Cavalier from 10am until 9pm.

The public will also have the opportunity to see them at work as they will be redecorating an urban space. The event will also include short films and animation. Entrance is free.

The Great Farsons Beer Festival

The Great Farsons Beer Festival is held at the Ta’ Qali Park and starts at 8pm. Entrance and parking are free. The festival will feature live entertainment as well as a wide selection of local and international brews and food. And for the first time this year, a special section will also be serving beers that are available exclusively in export markets – Farsons Strong Ale, Lacto Milk Stout, Cisk Red and Cisk Extra Strong.

Tonight’s performers include BNI, Eve Ransom and Fakawi on the Rock Stage with the main area hosting Music Makers (feat. Sophie), Eleonor Cassar, Maryrose Mallia, Marvic Lewis, Tony Camilleri and Fabrizio & Band.

Generation

Australian born Mark Gerada's Generation paintings, on show at the St James Cavalier main hall, incorporate old images from photographs his Maltese grandfather and father took during his 1970’s childhood. Working on 60 canvases simultaneously, Mark works the photographic images into collages, combining them with layers of paint and bright colour.

World Heritage: Humanity's Gift to the Future

An exhibition produced by UNESCO and organised by Heritage Malta being shown as part of the Public Information and Consultation Campaign on the Management Plans for the Megalithic Temples of Malta. Body of Glass – After Caravaggio

Vince Briffa will be presenting a video and audio installation at the cellars of Auberge d'Italie. It forms part of ‘Caravaggio – quote… unquote’, an exhibition of contemporary art by five artists in five different spaces, curated by Dr. Keith Sciberras and co-ordinated by Davinia Galea.

The exhibition addresses the body as being simultaneously object and subject of experience. Echoing Caravaggio's chiaroscuro idiom in its overall aesthetic, the video work concerns the human flesh and its reaction to harassment set in the contrasts of light and shade.

The exhibition is open between Monday and Friday (9.00am - 6.00pm) and Saturday (9.00am - noon).

Student’s Concert

Evenings on Campus will close with a concert performed by young musicians – some of whom are current students, others graduates of the University.

This concert, co-ordinated by young graduate, Marie Eloise Spiteri, is a musical performance which will have wide appeal. One will have the opportunity to listen to various musical genres, such as a piano classical performance by Charlene Farrugia, classic lyrical songs consisting of solo numbers and even duets by Joseph Lia, Stephanie Cachia Camilleri and Claire Ghigho, classical pop songs by Johanna Galea accompanied on the piano by Abigail Brown and soft rock by the group ‘Wax’, as well as a duo performing jazz – Chris Porter and Samuel Hayman.

The event will be held at 8.30pm at the Atriju Vassalli.Tickets at Lm2 will be available at the door or from the Agenda on Campus as well as MIA, Plaza, Embassy Pavi outlets. Evenings on Campus this year is supported by KPMG and BOV.

Karavan Petlor!

Etnikafe will be presenting an amusing and witty show that wears its Malteseness on it’s sleeve at the Old Opera House Ruins in Valleta, 9pm.

This year's concert features a new repertoire dealing with themes that reflect local social and environmental issues like immigration, hunting, urbanization and over-development, with songs like Merill Bang Bang, Kollox Tal-Plastik, Klandestini Rock, Bejgh u Bejgh, Sicca Ska and a Twistees Samba.
