MEPs for a social and ecological Europe

Zminijietna – Voice of the Left is appealing to the public to support candidates who are in favour of a social and ecological Europe, rather than a neo-liberal Europe.
The public should support candidates who clearly speak in favour of better working conditions and stronger social policy. A clear case in this regard is maternity leave. Increased maternity leave will result in better working conditions, more access for women in the labour market, and clear family-friendly social policy. Zminijietna believes that both men and women should participate in the labour market and in family caring roles.
Another example is the directive on cross border health services, which, as currently proposed, can result in social inequalities in the health sector.
Similarly, the Services Directive which shall be once again discussed under the forthcoming Swedish Presidency is currently being opposed by unions, leftist and green parties and movements, as it can result in less rights for workers.
Zminijietna – Voice of the Left appeals to Maltese voters to support those candidates who truly supported ecological measures for a better environment.
