Doom Metal Assault Vol. 1
Greek band Reflection will be joined by Nomad Son and Dawn Of Anguish for a gig at Poxx Bar, Paceville. Entrance is at €10. Doors open at 20:30, gig starts at 21:00 sharp.

Cumshaft
The classic rock band, featuring Rex (Xtruppaw, Norm Rejection) on bass, Kevin Vella (Ivan Filletti, NV) on guitar and Michael Briguglio (Norm Rejection, Dripht) on drums will be playing at Play Rock, Paceville. Doors open at 22:00. Entrance is free.

Porn - The Musical
Original new comedy musical is written by Malcolm Galea, Kris Spiteri, and Boris Cezek - collectively known as Indiskarf - at MITP, St Christopher’s Street, Valletta. Stefan leaves Malta for America after discovering some upsetting details about his fiancé’s sex life.

March 20 - 22; 27 - 29
Devil’s Advocate
Unifaun Theatre Productions will be staging Donald Freed’s play, as directed by Michael Fenech. The two-hander will feature Manuel Cauchi and Paul Portelli. The play is based on dialogues between Mons Laboa and General Noriega before the latter’s capture by American soldiers in Panama. Bookings: boxoffice@sjcav.org or 21223216. Tickets on March 20 will be sold at a concessionary price of €12. Tickets on all other nights are at €15.

A curtain is raised
The German-Maltese Circle will be organizing a talk delivered by H.E. Dr Caroline Gudenus, Ambassador of Austria, entitled ‘A curtain is raised - with a wire scissors against the separation of Europe’. The talk will deal with the abolishing of the Iron Curtain between Austria and its neighbouring countries in June 1989, which marked the beginning of the end of Europe’s division and eventually led to the Fall of the Berlin Wall. Held at Messina Palace, 141, St Christopher’s Street, Valletta. Starts at 19:00. www.germanmaltesecircle.org

QUIZ NIGHT

Thursdays
Snoopy’s Pub Quiz
Quiz at Snoopy’s Bar and Restaurant, Sliema starts at 20:30. The format of the event follows a typical UK pub quiz format: each table booked is considered to be a team. Quiz packs containing 40 questions on different topics are given out to each team, who would in turn be given an hour’s time limit to fill in their answers. After the hour elapses, correct answers will be called out by the quizmaster, after which the winning table is announced. Winners receive a €20 discount off their bill. A free bottle of The Stump Jump (Australia), imported by Bicanter Wines, will be given to the winning table and runners up. Participation is set at €2 per person.
