We can’t consume less

The television news this evening confirms something that I’ve always maintained: the Maltese are not wasteful and very aware of the amount of water and electricity they consume . It was confirmed by a spokesman for Enemalta (TVM News 8pm, 6 January) that the Maltese are the lowest consumers of water in the European Union. That probably goes for electricity as well.
Just goes to show that all this nonsense spouted about the need for us to use less of these commodities, and hence one of the reasons for raising prices ,is plain hogwash. We can’t use less, even if we wanted to.
What’s more, single persons living alone are being penalised by the current rates.
