New board for MFSA

A new board for the Malta Financial Services Authority was appointed yesterday.
Prof. Joseph Bannister was reconfirmed as Chairman, while Michael C. Bonello, Dr Anton Felice, Dr Cynthia Scerri Debono, Frank Xerri De Caro, Dr Louise Ellul Cachia Caruana and Albert A. Attard were appointed as members to the Board of Governors.
The Minister of Finance Tonio Fenech expressed his appreciation to the outgoing members of the Board for their sterling work throughout a period that has witnessed the rapid development of financial services on our islands, as well as the difficult times brought about by the crisis in the world financial markets.
The Minister also expressed his confidence that the new board will continue with its important work throughout the coming years, where financial services will keep playing a key role in the economy.
