Five persons detained after cocaine haul in Paceville

Five persons have been arrested by the Police Anti-Drugs Squad following a series of drug finds that were made at Paceville on the night between Friday and yesterday.
The police said that the persons were discovered during surveillance work and searches in various areas of Paceville during the entire night to identify people involved with drug trafficking.
The persons arrested were two Maltese young men aged 17 from Hamrun and St. Paul’s Bay respectively, a 19-year-old Spanish teenager, a 31-year-old Libyan man residing at St. Julian’s, and a 25-year-old Sudanese man residing at Hal Far.
All of them were caught in possession of cannabis resin.
The five suspects were expected to be arraigned in Court soon and charged with drug possession, while the Libyan and Sudanese nationals will also be accused of drug trafficking, the police said in a statement yesterday afternoon.
