The actress who plays Pauline Fowler in EastEnders, married her fourth husband last Saturday, just days after revealing that she is dying of cancer.
Wendy Richard, 65, married John Burns, 45, her partner of 13 years, at the Chesterfield Hotel, Mayfair.
Richard held her civil ceremony after revealing that her cancer had returned for a third time and spread to her bones and right kidney. She has already written her will and made detailed plans for her own funeral, including the music she wants played.
The couple’s honeymoon in the United States was postponed until Richard finishes her chemotherapy, which started this week, but they will be fitting in a week’s holiday in Malta around the treatment.
She has been previously a guest at the Fortina Hotel in Sliema.
Richard did not even have time to get herself a wedding dress, due to rushed wedding plans after her cancer diagnosis.
