Patrons go ballistic over slashed Bolshoi tickets

Patrons who bought tickets for the Swan Lake by The Stars of Bolshoi, a ballet performance at the Mediterranean Conference Centre this week, were pirouetting with rage when they discovered that they missed the very restrictive time bracket to claim a refund, after ticket prices were suddenly slashed.
Tickets for the world famous Russian ballet ensemble’s performance this week were unexpectedly reduced by Lm20, with barely any public notification whatsoever. Patrons who had purchased their tickets prior to the reduction were invited, through a notice on the MCC’s website, to a refund of the price difference, limited to a very short time bracket on Monday, April 16, from 12pm to 6pm.
Many patrons who only got to know about the refund after the time bracket had elapsed, were up in arms.
When asked to comment, MCC chairman Dr Peter Fenech insisted that all decisions regarding ticket sales were in the hands of the ballet company, claiming that the MCC is only there “to provide a space”.
