Infidelity is a scandal

Mistakes should not be compounded. Those advocating divorce would do just that. The Nordic countries are not very renowned for their Church affiliations but even secular studies bear out the contention that divorce is not something desired by the majority.
Dr Michael Svarer at the University of Aarhus in Denmark analysed 7,000 western marriages and found after 14 years together, only 1 in 100 couples seek divorce.
In another study the scandal of infidelity was evident when siblings emulated the behaviour of the other party as was evident in a study of 5,000 female twins alongside another randomly selected 5,000 females. The former achieved 55 percent infidelity rate as compared to the 23 percent norm in the control group.
If anything, legalising divorce would entice a number of faithful couples to embark on wreckful ‘adventures.’ An undesired social outcome which would compound our country’s present difficulties.
