Labour leader Alfred Sant is head-hunting for a new editor for maltastar.com, the once popular online party news website.
Officially, the editor is still Joseph Muscat although he is now a full-time Member of the European Parliament and has no more time to write on the website.
The latest person to accept to be interviewed by a panel of three including Alfred Sant involved a senior journalist from The Malta Independent.
Contacted by MaltaToday the journalist confirmed that he had declined the offer because of the low salary.
The English language website remains without full-time journalists months after vacancies were advertised.
