New multilevel shopping, entertainment centre for Paola in December

A new shopping complex called Mainstreet will soon replace the old cinema right in the centre of Paola.
Mainstreet promises to be the largest shopping centre in the south of Malta and is expected to open its doors in early December. Work on converting the former theatre on Paola Square into one of Malta’s most modern shopping complexes is now nearing completion.
The complex will have 2,500 square meters of shopping facilities whilst another 2,000 meters will host the entertainment activities. These will include a Sports Bar, a games room, a children’s area and a Bingo Hall due to open later on in 2005.
In all, the complex will house 16 highly finished shops on six different floors - their size ranging from 40 to 300 square meters. Most shops will be selling franchised goods and top quality products with brands such as Pull & Bear, Accessorize, Hot Couture, Pedigree, Sterling Jewelers, Terranova, Women’secret, Bossini, Tenda, Gadget and many more being present in the complex.
Mainstreet will is expected to become a landmark as a shopping venue in the south of the island.
A spokesman for Mainstreet comments, “We thought it was time to introduce this type of development to the South of the island. Mainstreet will cater for quite a large trading area and a number of large towns and villages in the vicinity. In many ways the complex will step up shopping standard.”
Mainstreet is another project of the Big Bon Group and after the success they experienced with the Group’s stake in Valletta’s Embassy Complex the Group is looking forward to the development of the new complex.
