Paralysis

I refer to the article written by Saviour Balzan entitled I think there is a mistake in the bill published in MaltaToday on 14 November.
I agree with almost all that Mr Balzan wrote in his article, but I disagree about how he compared the political period of the Labour government of the 1987 and this period we are currently passing through. If the two periods were the worst for the two governments, there are many cardinal differences between them.
Labour government created all the social services which all of us took profit from, created corporations and government entities such as Mid Med Bank, Enemalta, Air Malta which were making profits and the labour government had saved Lm400 million.
Now we are facing a different story, the dismantling of social benefits, the sale of all the entities that are sustainable such as BOV, spending double the prices on every government project, scattering millions on the bankrupt project of Brindisi and on Dar Malta, and overall we have Lm1.3 billion debt plus all the debts of the corporations.
I think that Mr Balzan's feeling was very kind towards this government, considering what we were promised before the last election.
