BOV 24x7 Services now offering electronic, mobile stockbroking

The BOV Group has recently launched Electronic and Mobile Stockbroking services, which allow customers to purchase and sell both local and foreign securities from the comfort of their home or office. Electronic and Mobile Brokerage may be accessed both through the existing BOV 24x7 Internet Banking and Mobile Banking Services or through BOV Stockbrokers’ web site on www.bovsl.com.
Through the electronic and mobile stockbroking services, subscribers are now in a position to place orders for the purchase or sale of securities listed on the Malta Stock Exchange as well as foreign stock exchanges. Until execution time, orders made may also be viewed and modified whereas a history of such orders may be scrutinised through the online facility and mobile phones.
This new development in Malta’s financial market has been made possible thanks to a series of new technological and infrastructural enhancements to Bank of Valletta’s suite of delivery channels. Both BOV 24x7 Services subscribers and BOV Stockbrokers’ clients are now in a position to effect stockbroking transactions from anywhere and at their own convenience through their preferred channel. In fact, the service can be accessed through any internet connection, mobile phone supporting WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) or by calling the BOV Customer Service Centre where BOV’s professional staff will be able to accept customer instructions directly over the phone.
Other services available include the viewing of one’s existing portfolio of current holdings, a facility to update one’s records with the Bank, an information service such as trading information about particular securities both in numerical and graphical representation, a Profit & Loss calculator of current holdings which takes into account the day’s market price, and last but not least a virtual portfolio whereby all Internet Banking and eBrokerage users can create their own imaginary portfolio and keep track of any gains or losses made on those investments being followed.
Existing personal BOV 24x7 subscribers are being given automatic access to these services free of charge. Upon accessing BOV’s Internet Banking facility, a new icon will feature in the main menu. On clicking on this icon, the BOV Internet Banking system will check whether the customer has already applied for the eBrokerage service and if so, the subscriber will be routed to the eBrokerage home page.
If on the other hand the system determines that the subscriber is not yet registered as an eBrokerage customer and, if the subscriber is a personal customer, the system will automatically display the terms & conditions and the registration form, which can be completed online. At this point, the client can start transacting in local securities.
BOV 24x7 Services are today regarded as a safer way to bank. More and more Bank of Valletta customers are in fact banking securely knowing that through the use of the BOV Securekey they can conduct their banking requirements with peace of mind, whenever and from wherever it is convenient to them. All BOV 24x7 channels are based on important pillars of information security. They offer full data integrity by ensuring that information retains its original level of accuracy. The infrastructure also ensures that the information is not disclosed to unauthorised individuals or processes.
More information on BOV Internet Banking and the other BOV 24x7 channels may be obtained from the BOV Customer Service Centre on telephone 21312020. The Centre is open from Mondays to Saturdays between 8.00am and 8.00pm (excluding bank/public holidays).
