Turkey, the EU and the USA

In my opinion the present US administration must immediately stop putting pressure on the EU to allow Muslim Turkey to start negotiations for full EU membership. At present the European Union has a large population of 15 million strong Muslims. Add another Turkey’s 70 million Muslims and the EU will have an 85 million Muslim population that will grow.
Does the Bush administration favour a Muslim European Union? In Malta we say that Muslims are ‘Bajd u Beccun’ in the sense that they have a very high birth-rate. On the other hand the Christian birth-rate is decreasing drastically to its lowest ebb.
Turkey’s full membership in NATO does not give her any credentials for full membership in the all Christian cultured European Union.
Turkey joined NATO to defend itself from the now defunct Soviet Union and Communism. But now the Soviet Union and the Communist threat are gone and Turkey can opt to quit the alliance. Above all Turkey is an Asian country and as we have seen in the Iraq war it will not permit Turkish soil to be used against any Arab countries by the American led forces.
So Mr. George Bush please stop putting pressure on the EU in favour of Turkey’s membership in the all Christian cultured European Union. Otherwise the European Union will become another Babylon, another Bosnia. Is this what the Bush administration wants? Do they want the end of the EU?
