Route 300 via Marsaskala

I strongly register my indignation and that of other residents in the locality regarding the 7 newly introduced bus route by the ADT to and from various localities to the university, tal-Qroqq, Paceville and Sliema.
This has happened for the second time running as Marsaskala had also been previously excluded from the tourist circular routes introduced in collaboration with MTA, notwithstanding the fact that Marsaskala is one of Malta’s foremost tourism priority areas. Although protests were organised nothing was done.
Once again Marsaskala has been excluded by ADT in its introduction of the newly introduced routes. The needs of our university students and youths population have been completely ignored and they are, thanks to ADT, unable to benefit from the newly introduced improved bus service. ADT officials owe an explanation to Marsaskala residents.
It is pertinent to mention that it was the Marsaskala Local Council which has proposed such direct routes from Marsaskala to Paceville, St Luke’s Hospital and the University. I feel that it is not fair that while the ADT took the Council’s suggestion it finally excluded Marsaskala from these newly introduced bus service.
I expect that route 300 should be extended to Marsaskala as our residents are entitled to benefit from such improved bus service.

Charlot Mifsud
Mayor
Marsaskala Local Council
