Open letter to the Preluna Hotel & Towers

It is not my intention to complain about your exorbitant prices but about your product. Some two weeks ago on a Friday my wife and I came to your hotel to meet my cousin from Australia. We stayed in the foyer and he ordered drinks, beer for us and white wine for them. Soon it was my turn to buy drinks and guess what? When I asked for white wine the bar-tender brought out a bottle of Lachryma Vitis from the cooler under the bench. I repeat Lachryma Vitis not Delicata winery.
I could hardly believe my eyes. If it weren't for the near presence of my relative I would have made a scene. The wine he brought out was the cheapest plonk that Malta has ever produced (I think it sold at 23c a bottle at the time) and which has been off the shelves for the past two or three years.
At the time it was only used for cooking BBQ's and God help those who drank it. I was not expecting Antonin or Gran Cavalier but I ask: is this the way to treat our tourists? Is this the taste we want to send them off with? Surely at Lm1.30 for two glasses of wine we could have given them, at least, some table wine. With Malta trying to put itself on the wine map, I think your hotel is letting us down. You may thank me for my custom but I will certainly not come again
