Diplomats are a waste of time

One cannot but agree wholeheartedly with your contributor Anna Mallia, regarding the waste of money on diplomats abroad, especially if they're not trained in commerce and investment. I write on my behalf, but I'm sure that fellow members of the committee, and staff, of the Maltese Language School of NSW, Australia would agree.
No Maltese Government has yet put a cent of investment in the language schools here in Australia. Yet, each and every student who attends classes, especially the working adults with money in hand, or teenagers with part-time jobs, make it a point of visiting Malta soon after starting to learn the language. The more confident they grow in the language, the greater their resolve to visit Malta on a regular basis.
The moral of the story? Invest in Maltese language and culture schools all over the globe, especially where there are migrants' descendants (use the moneys saved from withdrawing shindiggers/freeloafers) and notice, over some 3-5 years, a steady flow of tourists from this sector; those who visit for many weeks at a time, not the European backpackers and others on cruise ships who visit for only a few hours. And yet, also these latter ones should be well looked after to ensure the viability of the tourism industry.
