Facts of life

In this hot summer swimming season one may catch sight of a most bizarre looking fish which we call a Sea Horse.
It has many other unusual characteristics: it is the male which carries the duties which we associate with female motherhood.
The male Sea Horse fertilizes and carries the impregnated eggs in a pouch, like a kangaroo!
For the first time ever pictures have been released this month of a pregnant male (sic) seeking a place to hatch its eggs, reported and illustrated in The London Times, (August 5, p. 7)
