Malta House decision should be reversed

During the last few weeks we all heard about the enormous sum the Government is going to spend - from our contributions (the new word instead of taxes) - for Malta House in Brussels.
All taxpayers are surely against the decision to spend so many millions on it, considering the Government’s financial situation.
Taxpayers are interested to know who is responsible for all this. It is irrelevant whether it was the cabinet or RCC’s decision. We have the right to know.
Mainly taxpayers are angry and wonder how the Government is scattering money on luxurious things such as mobile phones, cars and especially the purchase of a Lm9 million embassy, and on the other hand is stingy on essential resources such as the health and social sectors.
If the Cabinet is to be seen to be truly taking effective decisions the Prime Minister, Dr Gonzi, should reconsider the decision - that way he would be more credible.
