I cannot understand that it had to be the MaltaToday to discover what kind of values we have, or still have on these islands.
I am talking about the inheritance scandal which is being serialised in MaltaToday. If one had to see these type of stories at the cinema you would probably say that everything is made up, edited to make an interesting story for the box-office.
But not what I am reading in this newspaper: what I am reading is different, is all about sharks and victims. The victims are always the same people, innocent people who are ignorant of whom is watching behind a corner ready to jump on them to feed their big stomachs: the sharks! Who knows who they are? One only knows when it is too late, when one is between those rows of sharp teeth.
I am reading of allegations that suggest that lawyers representing deceased individuals who parted with their property and left it to the Catholic Church have changed the will.
Could it be that no authority had ever expected this until these allegations were discovered? But now they know, and so no authority should remain passive, as if nothing has happened. If these allegations are true this is fraud or call it what you will, but I am sure it is a criminal offence.
I hope that every authority will get to the bottom of it, the Home Office, the Police, the Attorney General everybody, and find out, if these allegations are true. If so, those found guilty should be punished according to law.
In the meantime may I suggest that they do something to stop the abuses immediately, so there won’t be other victims.
