‘Sixt’ Sense For Corinthia Hotels International

Upscale Malta based hotel chain Corinthia Hotels International and the mobility services provider Sixt AG today announced a ‘preferred partner’ marketing collaboration agreement. Sixt offers high-value mobility services on an international scale and will work hand in hand with Corinthia Hotels International on a number of promotional initiatives aimed at generating an increased flow of business for both companies internationally.
Benefits for both companies include an exchange of preferential accommodation and car hire rates and other discounts for the companies’ clientele and staff. Prospective clients booking through each other’s reservations offices and through their on-line systems will also benefit from these special offers.
Joint promotional activities will include the reciprocal setting up of specific web pages on both companies’ websites, trade fairs collaboration, combined workshops and sales and incentives programmes, joint distribution of advertising material, and shared database marketing.
Founded in 1912, Sixt AG today has subsidiaries of franchisees in 51 countries and leads the car rental market in Germany and Austria with 1,881 employees and a yearly turnover of Euro 2,23 billion. The network of rental offices is 1,300 strong. It has also forged first-class partnerships with 29 renowned airline companies. In the leasing market, Sixt is one of the largest of the full-service leasing companies that are still independent of the car manufacturers.
Dr. Sachenbacher, member of managing board of Sixt AG, responsible for sales:
“We are looking forward to collaborating with Corinthia Hotels, they are an ideal partner. They share our philosophy: the perfect combination of high-value services and attractive prices.”
Equally committed to quality and with a similar family business background, Corinthia Hotels International (CHI) started operating its first catering concern in Malta in 1962. Today, the company employs 5000 people and operates 23 four and five star city and resort hotels in eleven destinations, and with a total room-stock in excess of 6000 rooms. It is fast becoming a market leader in several important cities. In fact, its latest and biggest hotel projects to hit the International conference scene: The Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal in Hungary - winner of the ‘Best five-star hotel in Budapest 2003‘ award; the Corinthia Alfa Hotel in Lisbon - lead hotel headquarters of the recent UEFA Football Nations Championships; and the exclusive Corinthia Bab Africa Hotel in Tripoli, host to several world leaders, together add an impressive 1270 upscale hotel rooms and extensive conference and events facilities that enable all three properties to individually handle bigger meetings than any other hotels in their respective cities.
“Whilst coming from different countries within the EU and also different sectors of the tourism industry, Sixt AG and Corinthia Hotels International nonetheless have very similar backgrounds and future aspirations” said CHI chairman Karmenu Vella. “Both companies started off as humble family concerns with a similar passion for quality growth and a pioneering spirit that has seen them expand successfully into successful international companies. We are convinced that our shared ideals and goals, and our strong commitment to service excellence, will lead to a long-lasting and fruitful marketing collaboration” concluded the CHI chairman.
