HSBC launches a major new product and service proposition - The Gold Account

HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. has launched the "Gold Account", a major new product and service proposition offering a wide selection of special banking facilities and initiatives aimed at a wide cross section of HSBC Malta's loyal and high value customers and to potential new customers who fit this client profile.
The main features of the new HSBC Gold Account include a Current Account with an automatic overdraft facility at discounted rates of interest, a Visa Gold credit card, a Quikcash Gold debit card and a customised Gold cheque book to emphasise the exclusive nature of HSBC's new banking package. Apart from the range of financial services, HSBC Gold Account holders will receive a number of other benefits. These include an elevated level of service with more personalised attention.
“HSBC is always looking to reward both loyal and new customers with better products and services. With HSBC’s Gold Account, our customers will be able to make use of a wider range of banking facilities, giving them more financial flexibility and convenience,’ said Mr Ray Briffa, HSBC’s Head of Branch Banking. Value for money is also a major priority with the annual cost of the card element being reduced by a maximum of 40% in some cases whilst all customers, both new and existing will have their present Gold card costs reduced by at least 14%. In addition to these financial savings HSBC is also extending year round comprehensive travel insurance for the account holder and family (spouse and children up to 18 years of age) for all overseas travel at no extra cost regardless of whether travel is paid by the card or not".
This new product and service proposition is aimed at customers who lead busy lifestyles and are upwardly mobile, earning a minimum gross annual salary of Lm10,000 (single income). This package recognises this customer segment as a loyal and higher value group of people and the Bank is reciprocating with a package that rewards customers with the privileges they expect. Additionally, from the moment the account is opened, an experienced official in every branch will be designated to guide and assist these customers with some of their banking requirements.
Through the automatic overdraft facility, Gold account holders can rest assured of immediate access to emergency cash beyond the balance in their account, anytime, anywhere. This facility will also be issued at a preferential discounted rate. Customers will also be issued with a Quikcash Gold card which, among many benefits, offers a Purchase Protection cover which provides for an automatic extended warranty on items that are purchased with the card.
"HSBC Gold Account holders will also benefit from a number of special facilities offered through the Visa Gold Card. Apart from the usual advantages of a credit card, this card entitles cardholders to membership in the Executive Club International which provides for an array of benefits and the VISA Global Customer Assistance Service which provides HSBC Gold Account customers with emergency services when they are travelling abroad,” said Mr Briffa.
Other benefits of the HSBC Gold Account include a number of other preferential interest rates and processing fees on other HSBC products such as Flexicredit and Home Loans.
“The HSBC Gold Account offers a range of benefits, which the Bank is certain will prove attractive and useful to its customers who expect to be given the best products and service from HSBC. The launch of the Gold Account is yet another step in HSBC’s continuing efforts to build a close and strong relationship with its customers,’ concluded Mr Briffa.
