PN to publish analysis of election result

Julian Manduca

Unlike the Labour Party before it, the Nationalist Party has no qualms about making the reasons for its drastic election loss public. Speaking to MaltaToday, PN Secretary General Joe Saliba said: “the PN is the only party to consistently make public this type of analysis.”
“The Partit Nazzjonalista always conducts an analysis of electoral results, be it a Local Council Election or a General Election and whatever the result,” Saliba added.
Asked who would be entrusted to prepare the analysis however, Saliba, unlike the Labour Party before it, would not let on.
Asked whether some sort of committee would be appointed, Saliba retorted: “Like I said, the PN, in any election, always conducts an analysis and drafts a report on the result, whatever the outcome. There is no reason to proceed any differently for this election.”
Quizzed as to whether the report would indicate what the Party should do to reverse the trend that saw the PN lose votes, Saliba said: “Any sort of analysis on electoral results is done to highlight the reasons for the sort of result obtained. As to what needs to be done by the government and the PN in relation to this result, will have to be conducted by a different source.”
