Eight EU MLP hopefuls were treated to a walk out at the Zebbug party club this week. Labourite activists present were visibly irked to notice John Attard Montalto take up most of the time allotted to other candidates.
The endless delivery by John Attard Montalto led Wenzu Mintoff to stand up and walk out of the gathering. Dr Mintoff was heard complaining about the way the whole event was hijacked.
Dr Attard Montalto has clearly irritated many of the candidates in the election campaign with his lavish and extravagant events. Worse than that his independent mind and habit of shooting from the hip has also worried the central office at Mile end.
Nevertheless, the lawyer who lives in a luxurious apartment at Busietta gardens, still commands a measure of support in the Labour ranks and middle class floating segment of the vote. Dr Attard Montalto was unavailable for comment on Saturday.
