Saliba says three-way debate is unhealthy

Matthew Vella
JOE Saliba, who has been secretary-general for the PN since 1999, said a three-way debate between the three candidates would only serve as an "emotional element for the media," leading to a debate that would not be healthy: "None of these candidates will be in the position to take part in a confrontational debate since these people have the same directions. These candidates do not hail from opposing parties. They do not hail from different schools of thought. They come from the same party…," Saliba said
He said this in an interview in MaltaToday, PN secretary-general Joe Saliba said the reason the Nationalist Party executive had decided against a confrontational three-way debate between the three leadership contenders was because all three have the same vision for the country based on the PN electoral programme.
