No five star hotels in Malta
Dr Anna Mallia
Zebbug
The Malta Tourism Authority’s reaction to my opinion that there are no five stars hotels in Malta is typical of an Authority that continues to bury its head in the sand and not wake up to the challenges. Its argument that it receives less complaints from guests in five star hotels shows that the Authority fails to understand or does not want to understand that people who stay in five star hotels do not bother to complain, they go somewhere else!
Regarding Marina San Gorg, I will leave it to your readers to judge if it is completely detached and therefore qualifies as five star – the structure is the same and the question is why was it not given the fifth star in the first place?
I take it that MTA still does not want to consider service as a requirement for classification of hotels. No wonder the tourism industry is in the puerile state that it is.
And yet the private sector continues to fund an Authority which is not delivering!
