An Irresponsible, Dangerous and Arrogant Driver
San
Gwann
Angelo Vassallo
Allow me to share with your readers a not-so-nice experience that I
passed through whilst driving on Monday December 15, 2003, at around
21.15 hrs. I was driving down Naxxar Road in San Gwann on my way to
Sliema. I was not alone since I had both my wife and my twelve-year
old daughter with me.
As soon as I arrived in front of the Bank of Valletta branch in Naxxar
Road San Gwann, all of a sudden I saw a BMW with the registration number
ADM-333 reversing at quiet a high speed towards me in the middle of
the road. I immediately started flashing my car headlights while at
the same time hooting my horn. We both came to a halt.
All of a sudden, as if I was the wrongdoer, the driver of this BMW ADM-333
(I suppose ADM stands for ADAM, and maybe it is the driver’s name)
came out of his car, which he left in the middle of the road. He then
started walking towards me. He also started shouting and swearing at
me, but by the time he arrived next to me, whilst I lowered my window,
he backed off and went to speak to someone else who was sitting in a
car right in front of the San Gwann BOV branch as if nothing happened.
On continuing my drive towards Sliema I nearly hit an approaching car
since I had to go on the right hand side (wrong side) of the road, because
as I have mentioned before, the BMW ADM-333 was blocking the left hand
side of Naxxar Road.
Watch out for these drivers. Unfortunately, we still do have irresponsible,
dangerous and arrogant drivers on our roads.
