No developments on Lino Cauchi’s murder
It had to be a normal day for Anna Cauchi. But 15 February 1982 will always remain a black spot. It was the day her husband Lino left the house for work, only to be found brutally butchered in a well in Buskett, three years later.
It has been four months since MaltaToday published an extensive investigative report on the murder of accountant Lino Cauchi. No new developments have occurred since. The new leads the police were following since August 2001 have not produced enough evidence. The investigative process seems to have ground to a halt despite clear indications that Lino Cauchi’s murder was linked to his work as an accountant and auditor for some well-placed individuals in the early eighties.
The truth about Lino Cauchi’s murder is not yet known 20 years after the mysterious disappearance.
MaltaToday speaks to Lino Cauchi’s widow, Anna about the ordeal she went through 20 years ago.
