Medical fees - the true story

Louis Buhagiar’s excessive medical fees investigated by UK agencies

A MaltaToday probe confirms that UK agencies and insurance companies have sparked off an inquiry into the excessive fees meted out by Labour spokesman Louis Buhagiar. Prof. Buhagiar who served as parliamentary secretary for the elderly (1996-1998) has been at the centre of an investigation by reputable UK agencies linked to the insurance industry after a series of reports from British tourists who visited Malta.

Insurance agencies abroad have told MaltaToday that they are so concerned with the high medical fees they are considering increasing the premium fir travellers coming to Malta. Until going to print Labour leader Dr Alfred Sant did not comment about the implications of this revelation on Prof. Buhagiar’s political standing in the Labour party.
